Meet & Greets
Whether it is a light lunch or a coffee and a chat, it is a great way of introducing yourself to other members socially within the society. It is a great opportunity to put a face to a name and through interaction and engagement you can develop friendships within the society and not only see first-hand the society’s “real” culture, but to have a takeaway of tried and tested ideas of pig keeping.
Open Days
Throughout the year, many of our Irish Pig Society members open their farms or small holdings to members of the public, schools, and the Irish Pig Society Members. These dates will be added to the Irish Pig Society as and when the open days happen.
Organising open days to either or any of the above is a fantastic and positive way of telling your story, to educate visitors or consumers, in not only a verbal way but visually allowing them to see your animals happy and healthy, in a manner that is natural to them, free-range, and doing what they do best, to root and forage. This gives a better understanding and opportunity for the visitors to your farm, about your passion of what free-range animals stand for.
Shows & Competitions
The Irish Shows Association is the official recognised body representing Irish Agricultural Shows on the island of Ireland. They currently have more than 130 affiliated agricultural shows, which run throughout the Summer and into the Autumn each year.
These country shows are an important showcase for our agri-food and bloodstock industries and a great shop window for many of the wonderful artisan food producers this country has to offer.

Annual General Meetings
The Irish Pig Society hold their Annual General Meeting within the first few several weeks of the New Year. This meeting is important to the society as this gives transparency to all our members regarding the function and management within the society.
During this time, the society’s members will have the opportunity to raise questions to the society’s committee members of the past year and also what the plans for the future are.
